Thank you for your comments regarding the helicopter noise generated on or near the airport during the evening hours. We have worked closely with the helicopter operator to remain south of Boeing Rd. in order to lower the impact of the noise to the residences off Goni Canyon. Also, night operations are launched from the Carson City Airport but conducted at the Minden Airport or east of Carson City as requested by the Airport Manager. We have worked closely with the helicopter operator and he has cooperated with the Airport to reduce the noise as much as feasible and conduct the training flights is is contracted to do.

The Carson City Airport is a 24 hour public use facility and as long as aircraft are operated within the Federal Aviation Regulations and Airport Rules and Policies the Airport Manager has no authority to stop those operations.

Respectfully,

Tim Rowe
Airport Manager

Hello:

I have sent an email to the airport manager regarding nighttime helicopter activity disturbing the peace of surrounding residential neighborhoods. I have yet to recieve a response.
I am unsure if I can attend your Authority Meeting to discuss the issue? I am doing this very reluctantly. Previously I contacted the city supervisors and mayor and was so relieved when the city resolved it last year.
Much to my dismay the helicopter excessive noise and vibration at hours when most of us are trying to sleep has increased again.
